Finsbury Park Singers

About the choir

Finsbury Park Singers is conducted by Charles Béquignon-MacDougall, and was founded by Hannah Brine in 2018. We perform one main concert per term, plus smaller performances at community events and markets. There are a number of socials throughout the year, including weekly drinks after rehearsals, post-concert pub visits plus occasional meals out at our favourite local restaurants. Hannah also hosts an annual singing retreat that many of our singers attend.

We are very proud to be a very community minded choir – we regularly support local charities such as StreetLink, Islington Mind, Islington Food Bank and Single Homeless Project. We have raised over £10,000 for charity.

We have a few places available for the summer term onwards. If the choir is fully booked you can ask to be added to a waiting list for new members – please email assistant@hannahbrine.co.uk.

In the meantime, if you’d like to consider Victoria Park Singers, there are spaces available. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings in Hackney, and is also conducted by Charles Béquignon-MacDougall, so is a very similar vibe to Finsbury Park Singers.

Alternatively for sopranos and altos, we have spaces in Finsbury A Cappella, which is an upper voices auditioned choir that rehearses in the same venue as Finsbury Park Singers, also on Tuesdays but from 6.15pm to 7.15pm.

We also have a new choir in Walthamstow, which launched in October. Walthamstow Singers meets on Tuesday evenings from 7pm to 8.30pm at Greenleaf Road Baptist Church, and is conducted by Tristan Weymes.
