Finsbury Park Singers appoints Charles MacDougall as new Musical DirectorFinsbury Park Singers is delighted to announce Charles MacDougall as the new Musical Director. Choral conductor and internationally acclaimed tenor Charles MacDougall, will take over as Musical Director of Finsbury Park Singers from April 2023. A former member of the UK’s top vocal ensemble Voces8, Charles brings a wealth of incredible experience. Charles’ appointment also comes as the choir celebrates its fifth anniversary.
Charles says:
“I am delighted to be taking on the role of Musical Director of the Finsbury Park Singers! When we met earlier this year, I knew immediately that we would be able to create a great partnership full of energy and good humour. I look forward to exploring a huge variety of repertoire with them and to helping them develop their already excellent sound!”
Charles will be continuing the work of Hannah Brine, who founded the choir in 2018. Having recently moved from London to the Peak District, Hannah will maintain an active role within the choir, as the Choir Manager and Assistant Conductor. Hannah says: “It has been such a huge pleasure to establish and get to know this choir. It’s such a shame our musical journey has been cut short due to my move, however, I know Charles is a hugely inspiring leader and will take the choir onward on new musical adventures. We have enjoyed a range of material from classical to pop to folk and jazz, and this legacy will continue with Charles programming varied and inspiring repertoire.”
